Geoff is the President of Eco-metrics, Inc. and a Senior Research Scientist at the company.
Geoff maintains adjunct faculty positions at the University of Georgia's Institute of Ecology and the University of Montana’s Flathead Lake Biological Station. As outlined in this news story, he will begin a position as an Assistant Professor of Fluvial Landscape Ecology in the Department of Land Resources and Environmental Sciences at Montana State University in September of 2008.
As a research scientist, Geoff integrates knowledge derived from a variety
of scientific disciplines to understand the spatial ecology of
stream and river ecosystems. His areas of interest are diverse including Landscape
Ecology, Stream Ecology, Forest Ecology, Hydrology, Geomorphology, and
Hydrogeology. Most of Geoff's research efforts relate to the
study of flood plains and river networks in the emerging field of
Fluvial Landscape Ecology.
Geoff earned his B.S. in Natural
Resources from Cornell University, his M.S. in Forest Ecology from Utah
State University, and his Ph.D. in Forest Hydrology/Stream Ecology from
the University of Montana.
